Elizabeth Drew is a filmmaker based in Oklahoma City since 2006, originating from the east coast, where she obtained her BA from Hampshire College. She came into the industry as a lighting tech in 2012, while writing narrative and cutting music videos on the side from her growing catalogue of friends-family-neighborhood footage. She's enjoyed years in the lighting department in various roles - as the current in-house gaffer and videography specialist for Chickasaw Nation’s Multimedia Department, as gaffer on HBO feature Land Of Gold and various shorts; as a best electric on series Lowdown (pilot ep), Reservation Dogs (S1), feature Menari, as well as Hellraiser: Judgement and others; as a set lighting tech on Paul Dano's feature Wildlife, on Twisters, American Gods, Queen of the South, and more. For the last four years with Chickasaw Nation’s Multimedia Department she’s helped produce 15+ short bio pics and program highlight videos a year, directing b roll shoots as well as a current piece on Chickasaw Nation’s Dynamic Women’s Conference 20th Anniversary. In 2024 she directed her SAG approved short film script, Horsewater, in preparation for her more intensive short Disco Ship and feature script Saavie. As a writer and director, she explores intersecting themes around codependency, parenthood, caution towards Al, and PTSD recovery with her work. She is equally as engaged with creative expression as she is with workers rights and has been developing and this show for the last few years. In her free time, she serves as Vice Chair on Sierra Club’s Cimarron OKC group in the Oklahoma Chapter and supports DSA OKC.
